The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is deeply committed to relieving the suffering of God’s children around the world, without regard to race, religious affiliation, or nationality.
In many countries in Asia, the Church conducts this work through its humanitarian arm, Latter-day Saint Charities (LDSC).
In Asia – where over half of the world’s population resides – poverty, suffering, and inequality still affect the lives of hundreds of millions.
Our Approach
To help the most people in need, Latter-day Saint Charities partners with local government and community leaders to understand the biggest needs facing people in the community.
LDSC evaluates how to best address these needs, coordinating with government leaders, Church resources, non-profit organizations, and contractors to provide help in a manner that promotes:
- Personal responsibility
- Community support
- Self-reliance
- Sustainability
