Thank you for your interest in serving as a humanitarian missionary in Asia. We invite you to take a couple steps:
1. Let’s Talk
We – the Asia Area Humanitarian Team – would love to meet you, learn more about your experiences, and answer any questions you have. Our team helps coordinate humanitarian efforts across the Asia Area and will be your support with resources and training when you are in the mission field. In addition to answering your questions, we can help walk you through the entire mission application process.
While your preferences are carefully considered by the Brethren and assignments may be made accordingly, please be willing to serve wherever you are assigned. Your call to serve will come from the President of the Church, and your assignment will be made by inspiration by a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
2. Apply to Serve
The missionary application process consists of four major steps:
- Let your bishop know you are interested in serving a humanitarian mission and meet with him to begin the application process.
- Fill out your information on the online missionary application form.
- Complete needed medical and dental checkups.
- Meet with your stake president to complete your application. Your stake president will then submit your application.
After you receive your call, you will likely attend an MTC before coming to the field. We will work with you to ensure you have the training needed to hit the ground running.
