Clementi Ward and Choa Chu Kang Ward are holding an Open House on “How to Build a Strong and Happy Family” on Saturday, 25 August 2018 at the Pasir Panjang Chapel (233 Pasir Panjang Road, Singapore 118590).

The key event of the Open House is a talk by best-selling author Ms Yeo Sha-en.  She will talk about building resilience within the family through relationships, focussing on the strengths of each family member and bringing positivity in the home.

Sha-en, the founder of Positive Education, is the first Singaporean to receive the prestigious Masters In Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) degree from the University of Pennsylvania! She is passionate about positive psychology and education and delivers quality programmes that equip teachers and parents with the mindset, tools and skills to help children flourish and thrive. Her goal is for Positive Education to reach 100,000 teachers and parents by 2021.

After her presentation, participants are invited to attend two concurrent sessions on family related themes, each lasting about 20 minutes.  The first is “How to conduct family home evenings” for strengthening family relationships; and second, “How to conduct family councils” for encouraging candid conversations among family members.

There will be a display on family history resources to help participants search for their ancestors and write their family history.

The open house begins at 10.00 a.m. and ends at 12.00 noon. Members and the public are welcome.
