Balancing personal life and time for God

Branson Tai

Life can get busy really quickly, especially with school, activities, friends, or social media. Because of that, it can sometimes feel hard to make time for God. I’ve learned that making time for Him does not have to be a difficult task nor would it consume my personal time.

Making time for God can in my everyday life can be as simple as saying a short prayer in the morning and before bedtime. It can also be reading one scripture verse, thinking about something I am grateful for, asking God for help during the day, or simply completing my seminary homework. These small moments can help me feel closer to Him.

When I try to include God in my everyday life, I feel calmer and more peaceful. Even when my problems do not go away right away, I feel less alone and not lost. The scriptures teach that God wants me to draw closer to Him. When I do so, He helps strengthen me to overcome personal challenges.

Making time for God is about trying. I do not need to be perfect. When I choose to remember Him and follow Jesus Christ in small and simple ways, my relationship with God grows stronger over time.
