Beyond 5 - Asia Tour - Steve Lesser

After launching their Asia tour in front of thousands of fans in Mongolia and Malaysia, Beyond 5 arrived in Singapore on Saturday, August 10 to continue their Asian adventure. The Tyler Castleton and Russ Dixon venture divided their third tour stop into a private concert in front of screaming fans at the Singapore Polytechnic Convention Center and a respectful, calm fireside hosted at the Singapore Stake Center. More than 50 volunteers from the LDS church and local community helped host the band providing emcees for the events and organizing the local logistics.

Beats and Pieces, a local Singaporean band comprised of youth from the LDS church, opened up the Brigham Young Management Society hosted concert Saturday night covering popular music while increasing the electric atmosphere among the over 600 in attendance. Zac Love, Tanner Myler, TJ Ryan, Ammon Tuimaualuga, and Patch Crowe of Beyond 5 followed with their new, youth inspirational music engaging the audience members throughout bringing young ladies onto the stage for “Serenade” and pumping up the enthusiasm with “All Around the World.” During the concert, the band showed a sneak preview of their first official music video, “That’s What You Do” to the cheers of their new fan base.

For many, the highlight of the tour stop occurred on the second night as the band members shared their testimonies through song and word at the Singapore Stake Center on Sunday afternoon. Their experiences overcoming challenges, their messages of hope, and their invitations to show love to others inspired the young fireside attendees who came for one more glimpse of the budding stars. Finally as the bus pulled out and headed to the airport, the Singapore Stake relaxed after a weekend of service and reflected on the positive experiences generated by the Beyond 5 event while the band moved on to tour stop four and more adoring fans.
