Follow the Prophet

Scriptures

What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken, ... whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same (D&C 1:38); Thou shalt give heed unto all his words and commandments which he shall give unto you as he receiveth them, … For his word ye shall receive, as if from mine own mouth, in all patience and faith. For by doing these things the gates of hell shall not prevail against you; yea, and the Lord God will disperse the powers of darkness from before you, and cause the heavens to shake for your good, and his name’s glory (D&C 21:4-6).

Questions

  • Why do some people find it difficult to follow God’s prophets?
  • What blessings follow those who receive counsel from the prophets?
  • How have you been blessed by following the prophet?

Objective

Being led by a living prophet is one of the distinguishing characteristics of Christ’s Church. As we accept the prophet’s counsel as the Lord’s counsel, we will be guided through the perilous last days.
