On a recent visit to Asia in Feb/March 2014, Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, remarked that it is a wonderful time for the Church in Asia.
Elder Holland and other Church leaders, accompanied by their wives, had the opportunity to visit Beijing, Hong Kong, Macau, Taipei, and Bangalore—holding priesthood leadership, missionary, and member meetings; conducting an area review; and attending a devotional commemorating the 65th anniversary of the Church in Hong Kong.

Cambodia
CambodiaIn the last twenty years, the Church has seen tremendous growth in Cambodia. For just the second time in the history of the Church, two stakes in one country were created on the same day, on 25 May 2014. These are the first two stakes in Cambodia and the members are rejoicing.

Vietnam
VietnamIn a ceremony held 30 May 2014, The Vietnamese government has officially recognized what is known as the Interim Representative Committee of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Vietnam. While further details are still forthcoming, this is a significant milestone for members in Vietnam who continue to abide by the laws governing religious activity in Vietnam.

Thailand
ThailandOn 15 June 2014, the second stake in Thailand was announced. After the sustaining of the new stake and district presidencies, Elder Leonard E. Woo, an Area Seventy, stated, “These men are called by God. They appear relatively young, but power in the priesthood does not come by age. It comes by faith and obedience to the commandments of Jesus Christ. President Sathit Kaivalvatana is a great example of that. When we have the Holy Ghost with us, we can achieve much good.”
